Hi just out of curiosity what did people get medically discharged for at reception while being a holdover? What is something they said to the doctors or people or was is something the doctors found while doing a physical?
I knew a few people who found out they were pregnant at reception.
Most of the medically discharged people came out in the “Moment of Truth” when the reception DSs ask everybody to give up any medical information they’ve been lying about, one last time. Say, if you lied at MEPs or to your recruiters about something then the DSs want to know about it so they can document it and you won’t get “in trouble”. If you decide to tell them something, it can jeopardize your career because they’ll send you back through medical. Mostly, it was people coming out and telling the DSs that they were once diagnosed with some type of mental illness, used to go to therapy, or had asthma… then they go through medical and psych evals and deem you unfit to be in the military because they think you’ll be a liability. It’s kind of like a way to weed out anybody… and at this point it seems like they’ll kick anybody out for anything because of the downsize.
I guess sometimes it can be something found in the physical, but that’s highly unlikely. The reception physical is just sight, hearing, dental, and blood work.
